Textile Artist
Susan learned the rare art of English smocking from an aunt. Over the last 20 years, Susan has smocked and sewen dozens of dresses, baby rompers and nightgowns, displaying them at juried arts events throughout the lower Mainland. A small dress takes about 10 hours to complete. In addition to smocked items, Susan creates various other fabric items, such as Quillos, Baby quilts, crayon aprons, casserole carriers, adult aprons and much more.

Wood Turner
Gerry uses both domestic and exotic hard woods. These solid wood boxes start with gluing segmented pieces of wood together to create a strong block of wood. Next, much sanding and hand-rubbed coats later, the finished piece emerges with a beautiful everlasting luster. His pieces are also shown at the Wickaninnish Inn and the Royal Museum in Victoria, BC.

Chinese water colour & calligraphy
Sui-fan emigrated from Hong Kong to Vancouver in 1994 and had her first experience with Chinese painting in 2000. Two years later Sui-fan studied Chinese painting and calligraphy from the well-known Artist, Mr. Nathan (Nai Cheong) SZETO who is one of the few major artists of the Chinese Lingnan School of Painting in China, Hong Kong and Canada. Sui-fan’s work exhibits a variety of Chinese painting styles ranging from basic, elaborate approach to the impressionistic style including the traditional Chinese landscapes, including nature – birds and flowers, and Chinese calligraphy in various scripts. Sui-fan is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Ontario Chinese Artists Association and Chong Shing Arts Association (Canada) in Vancouver. She has been participating in different art exhibitions in Vancouver in the past years, including the Indian Summer Art Show and has now joined the Community Arts Council of Richmond.

Nature Conservation Photographer
Born and raised in Ontario, Dave has called Sidney on Vancouver island home since 2002. His goal is to promote and educate people about nature conservation through his photography. This includes fine art photography, gift cards, art shows, calendars and prints. He has been published in Vancouver Island Tourist Guide magazine, B.C. Magazine, Nature Photograher, Canadian Wildlife Magazine and Island Visitor publication. He had 8 images in the semi finals of the Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition, quite possibly the largest competion in the world. His work includes natures creatures such as birds, bears etc as well as breath-taking scenes, and is available at the Artisans' Galleria and through his website.

Pottery
Shirley, a Richmond potter, has been creating in clay for almost 30 years. After discovering the joy of working in clay, she has taken private lessons followed by formal trainings at Douglas and Kwantlen College and Emily Carr College of Art & Design. As a member of Richmond Potters Club she taught adult pottery classes as well as children's classes at Richmond Arts Centre for many years. She has exhibited her creations in solo and group exhibitions since 1986. She was born on Vancouver Island and has lived her entire life by the water's edge. She is influenced by the meditative rhythm of the sand, sea and sea life. Her ceramic forms and colours relates to the tranquility of the ocean scene.
